Emergency Procedures

Procedures for Emergencies

For the safety of people at our school, we want to remind you that, in the event of an emergency at school, the following procedures will be followed.

Students will be released to parents or persons who have been nominated on the students personal detail form / emergency contact details held in the school office.

No child will be able to leave with another person, even if a relative or babysitter, unless we have written permission.

All parents or designated carers, who want to collect students, must sign them out at the office or the alternative Student Release Station which will be set up at the Anson Avenue entrance to the school. They will be given a release pass to be presented to the person responsible for their student before the student is given to their care.

We are prepared to care for students in the event of a critical situation. We have staff members with first aid certificates.

We do ask for your help in the following areas:
  • Please do not call the school, we must have lines open for emergency calls.
  • Following an earthquake or other emergency, do not immediately drive to the school – street entrance areas must remain clear for emergency vehicles.
  • Do turn your radio on – information and directions will be given over the radio.
Please ensure that the school has up to date medical information about your child.

Please inform the school office if your child needs special food or medication in an emergency situation. It is your responsibility to maintain these supplies of medication/food at all times.

Should your child be injured we will arrange for them to be cared for and if necessary taken to the best available medical/casualty centre.

Please keep the school informed of changes of address and phone numbers and other relevant information.

Yours faithfully

S Ostermann
Principal
