Our Programmes
Highly trained staff deliver the seven curriculum areas: English, Mathematics, Science, Health and Well being, Social Sciences, The Arts & Technology. We have trained and skilled staff delivering these programmes.

 

Outdoor Education is an important part of the planned programmes and it is hoped all children will be able to participate in what we believe is an essential part of the school curriculum.

 

Health Education

There are some aspects of the Health programme that require your permission as Parent(s)/Guardians before they are taught. These include the sections on 'Keeping Ourselves Safe'. You will be notified when and where these programmes take place.

 

Sport 

As well as school programmes the school offers the opportunity of childrens' Sports in Netball, Cricket, Hockey and Soccer. The school holds Swimming, Athletics and Winter Sports Days.

 

We operate a Bi cultural Programme in every classroom of the school. Waiata (songs) legends and other cultural aspects of the Maori Culture are included in school programmes. We also offer the opportunity of joining the Kapahaka group.


The school operates special programmes in :

1 Remedial Reading

2 Reading Recovery

3 Children with special remedial academic learning needs

4 Children with special ability

5 English as a Second Language

6 KapaHaka (optional)



 

BEFORE AND AFTERSCHOOL CARE

The YMCA runs an after-school care programme within the school grounds. Enquiries can be made to the

School Office or YMCA 838 2529.
